| The
Thailand-Burma Railway Centre
An
interactive museum, information and research facility dedicated
to presenting the history of the Thailand-Burma "Death
Railway".
The
railway ran over 400 km from Ban Pong in Thailand to Thanbuyuzayat
in Myanmar (Burma), and was ordered by the Imperial Japanese
Army to be built by Allied prisoners of war and Asian labourers.
The
Centre has been established to offer a fair, un-biased telling
of the story of the Thailand-Burma Railway using modern, interactive
tools and is the perfect compliment to the "harsh reality"
exhibits at the JEATH War Museum.

The
curator of the museum is Rod
Beattie, an Australian whose passion for the
history of the Thai-Burma Railway is unrivalled. Now very
much a local "Kan Guy", it is down to Rod's tireless
research that the museum became a reality.
